Knows often as a Mini - Macaw, the Hahn's Macaw is 100% Macaw Parrot - just a lot smaller than other family members like Blue & Gold Macaw. In fact the Hahn's Macaw is not much larger than many Conures, but don't let the small size fool you for a second. These birds are full blooded Macaws in every way - they can be little clowns who beg for attention, they can be pretty talkative when they feel like it, and if they are in a bad mood - watch out, that little beak can hurt as much as a bigger Macaws if not more so. They can also be prone to being "escape artists " so you may come home to find a cage you knew you secured before leaving with a door wide open and a proud Hahn's sound asleep on top the cage. Remember, despite the size - they are Macaws, period. If you want a big Macaw, but are scared by the size or don't have enough room, a Mini Macaw might be for you !
